Frequently asked questions

Answers about beQ accounts, profiles, events, connections, privacy and support.

What types of events can I create or join?

beQ supports public events, public events with registration and private events. Public events can be visible to everyone. Events with registration require a request and approval by the organiser. Private events are accessible only through a direct link and are hidden from the map.

How does registration for an event work?

If an event requires registration, select Join and complete the registration form if one is provided. The organiser reviews the request and can approve or decline participation.

Can I leave an event?

Yes. If your request is still pending, you can cancel it using the request button on the event page. If you are already a member, you can leave through the three-dot menu on the event page.

How do I reset my password?

Once you have created a password, use the Forgot Password option on the login screen to reset it.

How do profiles work on beQ?

You can have up to 10 profiles within one account. Each profile can have its own personal information, interests, favourites, events and chats. Account credentials are shared across those profiles.

How do I switch between profiles?

Open the Profiles screen, open the three-dot menu for the profile you want to use, and select Switch to this profile.

How do connections work?

Connections are mutual. You send a connection request and the other person must approve it. Once connected, you may be able to message each other, share location information where permitted, invite one another to events or share profiles, depending on privacy settings.

Is my location visible to everyone all the time?

No. You control location-related visibility in Privacy Settings. Depending on your settings, other users may be able to see your distance, obtain directions to you or view your profile. If you select Nobody, you will not be able to see other people’s locations.

What does matching on the map mean?

Matching helps you discover people, businesses and events with similar interests. Green means Perfect Fit, yellow means Worth Exploring, and red means Low Match.

What happens when I block someone?

Blocking prevents you and the blocked person from messaging each other. The chat becomes unavailable for both of you. The blocked person cannot view your profile according to the app’s privacy rules and is removed from your favourites.

How do I report inappropriate content or suspicious activity?

Open the three-dot menu on the relevant profile, business, event or message, select Report, add a short description and submit it. You may be able to block the user at the same time. Reports are reviewed by the support team.

How do I contact support?

In the app, open Account Settings and select Support. You can enter a message and optionally attach a JPG or PNG screenshot. You can also email info@beq.com.
