1. Our commitment
beQ AG operates the beQ mobile application (“beQ” or the “App”). beQ is committed to protecting children and young people from sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, trafficking, sextortion and other forms of child endangerment.
beQ has a zero-tolerance policy toward Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (“CSAE”) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (“CSAM”). We prohibit any use of beQ that sexually exploits, abuses, endangers, targets or facilitates harm to a child or minor.
These standards apply to all beQ users and to all content and interactions made available through the App, including profiles, photos, videos, events, business listings, reviews, chat messages, files, documents, attachments, links and other user-generated content.
2. Definitions
- Child or minor means a person below the age of 18, unless a different age is required by applicable law.
- CSAE means child sexual abuse and exploitation. It includes content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers a child. Examples include grooming, sextortion, trafficking of a child for sexual exploitation and sexualisation of a minor.
- CSAM means child sexual abuse material. It includes any visual depiction, including photographs, videos or computer-generated imagery, involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
3. Prohibited content and behaviour
The following are strictly prohibited on beQ:
- CSAM in any form, including the creation, upload, storage, sharing, distribution, request, promotion, sale, purchase or linking to CSAM.
- Sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, sexualisation or endangerment of a child or minor.
- Grooming, including building trust with a child or minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation, abuse, sexual contact or exchange of sexual imagery.
- Sextortion, including threats, blackmail, coercion or pressure involving real or alleged intimate images of a child or minor.
- Trafficking, solicitation, advertising, recruitment or facilitation of a child for commercial sexual exploitation.
- Inappropriate sexual interaction directed at a child or minor.
- Sharing personal information about a child or minor in a way that creates a safety risk.
- Attempting to evade moderation, reporting, blocking, age-related restrictions or law-enforcement investigations.
- Any content or conduct that violates applicable child-safety, child-protection or criminal laws.
4. Reporting concerns in the App
beQ provides an in-app mechanism for users to submit feedback, concerns and reports.
To report content or conduct in beQ:
- Open the relevant profile, business, event or message.
- Open the three-dot menu.
- Select Report.
- Choose the applicable reason and provide a short description.
- Submit the report.
Users may also be able to block the relevant user at the same time. Blocking prevents further interaction according to the App’s rules and settings.
For additional support, contact beQ at info@beq.com. Email must not replace urgent contact with local emergency services or law enforcement when a child may be in immediate danger.
5. Our response and enforcement
When beQ obtains actual knowledge of suspected CSAM or CSAE, we will take appropriate action in accordance with this policy, our Terms of Use, applicable law and our legal obligations.
Depending on the circumstances, appropriate action may include:
- Reviewing reported content and relevant account information.
- Removing, disabling, restricting or preserving content where appropriate and lawful.
- Suspending or permanently terminating accounts involved in prohibited conduct.
- Limiting access to features or taking other steps to protect users and the integrity of the App.
- Preserving relevant information where required for investigation, legal compliance or lawful reporting.
- Reporting confirmed CSAM or other reportable child-exploitation matters to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), relevant regional authority, law enforcement or another competent authority where required or appropriate under applicable law.
- Cooperating with lawful requests from competent authorities.
beQ does not promise a specific review or response time. Reports involving an immediate risk to a child should also be reported directly to local emergency services or law enforcement.
6. Child-safety contact
beQ’s designated child-safety point of contact is responsible for receiving potential notifications from Google Play concerning CSAE or CSAM and for coordinating beQ’s enforcement and review procedures.
